🐣 Our special education students are embarking on an incredible journey in Mr. Mayer's AE class! As part of our science curriculum, they're taking on a unique and hands-on project: candling fertilized eggs! 🥚🕯️ 🔍 Candling eggs is not only a fascinating experience but also a fantastic way to learn about life cycles and embryonic development. Our students are diving into this project with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a whole lot of care. 🧠💡 💡 Through this project, they're not just observing; they're actively participating in the miracle of life. It's a beautiful example of how every individual, regardless of their abilities, can engage in meaningful learning experiences. 🌱👩‍🏫 We're immensely proud of our students and grateful for the support of everyone as we nurture their curiosity and ignite their passion for learning. ✨ #SpecialEducation #ScienceProject #HandsOnLearning #InclusiveEducation

For the month of April, Sue Cave, of the Transportation Department was selected for the Family Matters Award! She was recognized during our School Board Meeting, where she was celebrated for her outstanding efforts. She was also awarded $100 from the Ingleside ISD Education Foundation. Below is an excerpt from the nomination that was submitted on her behalf. "Sue is always friendly with all her students and parents and knows students and their families very well. The other day she stopped me while on my regular morning walk at 6:30 am. She wanted to pass on to my son his bus pass that had gotten lost. In my eyes, she went beyond the call of duty to look after our boy. Not only that, but She takes pride in her bus and making sure her students get to and from school safely on a daily basis. In-between her routes she cleans buses, gets buses ready for field trips and sport events, she helps fuel buses and also makes sure buses are stocked and disinfected. She also helps out during the summers with custodial, maintenance, registration for transportation and anything else that she's asked of. She has volunteered to work every football game and graduation event, she is a big team player and a huge involvement in the success of the transportation department. She goes above and beyond the expectations everyday and she does it with a smile on her face." We encourage you that if you witness an employee who goes above and beyond and demonstrates actions or qualities that are worthy of celebrating, to tell their story and help us recognize them! The nomination form is located on the district website at www.inglesideisd.org ,under the 'About Us' section of the Menu. Congratulations, Ms. Cave! We're so happy you're a part of the Family at IISD.

For the month of March, Alvin Moore, of Leon Taylor Middle School was selected for the Family Matters Award! He was recognized during our School Board Meeting, where he was celebrated for his outstanding efforts. He was also awarded $100 from the Ingleside ISD Education Foundation. Below is an excerpt from the nomination that was submitted on his behalf. "Mr. Alvin Moore is one of the custodians who takes care of the new Leon Taylor Middle School, but for many years he maintained and kept up the Blaschke Sheldon Elementary campus. Mr. Moore works in the early hours to make sure that the building that the students and staff walk into is beautiful and well maintained. He goes above and beyond routinely with extra duties ensuring the safety of our students and staff is a priority. Any special project like moving furniture, finding resources or tools, or general tasks almost always comes to him, and he accepts and takes care of them with an attitude we should all emulate. Nothing is too big, and nothing is too small for him. Furthermore, Alvin's interactions with students are always positive, and students look to him, and speak of him favorably. Alvin is the son of Alvin Moore senior, the namesake of both a street and water facility in Ingleside. Alvin and his family have dedicated their careers to service in a community that they love and hold dear, with few people embodying the motto "come be part of the family" as much as he has. " We encourage you that if you witness an employee who goes above and beyond and demonstrates actions or qualities that are worthy of celebrating, to tell their story and help us recognize them! The nomination form is located on the district website at www.inglesideisd.org ,under the 'About Us' section of the Menu. Congratulations, Alvin! We're so happy you're a part of the Family at IISD.
