It was a good day to be a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) student at Leon Taylor Middle School! Thanks to the Sparklight #DreamBigger contest, Mrs Kilburn and her students received a check for $2500 to use for enhancements in robotics and virtual reality labs.

For the month of April, Sue Cave, of the Transportation Department was selected for the Family Matters Award!
She was recognized during our School Board Meeting, where she was celebrated for her outstanding efforts. She was also awarded $100 from the Ingleside ISD Education Foundation. Below is an excerpt from the nomination that was submitted on her behalf.
"Sue is always friendly with all her students and parents and knows students and their families very well. The other day she stopped me while on my regular morning walk at 6:30 am. She wanted to pass on to my son his bus pass that had gotten lost. In my eyes, she went beyond the call of duty to look after our boy. Not only that, but She takes pride in her bus and making sure her students get to and from school safely on a daily basis. In-between her routes she cleans buses, gets buses ready for field trips and sport events, she helps fuel buses and also makes sure buses are stocked and disinfected. She also helps out during the summers with custodial, maintenance, registration for transportation and anything else that she's asked of. She has volunteered to work every football game and graduation event, she is a big team player and a huge involvement in the success of the transportation department. She goes above and beyond the expectations everyday and she does it with a smile on her face."
