New IPS Leader

Ingleside ISD hires John D’Orazio to serve as Principal of Ingleside Primary School

Earlier this year, IISD announced that our IPS Principal, Stephanie Dotson had made the decision to retire after her 21-year tenure with Ingleside ISD. In the last couple of months, IISD began the search for her replacement and was extremely fortunate to have found and hired Mr. John D’Orazio as the new leader of the IPS campus.

D’Orazio was born and raised in Philadelphia and has over 23 years of experience in education, including being a 1st-grade teacher. He spent 21 of those years in Urban schools in the Denver Metro area. While in Denver, D’Orazio served as Principal of a Title 1, K-6 school for 11 years. Throughout his career, D’Orazio has coordinated and helped develop many initiatives and activities at his various positions prior to becoming an Administrator. It was during his time in the Denver Metro area that he received some of his most memorable accomplishments. D’Orazio and his team implemented a dual language program and went from a turnaround status to performance level campus on state assessments.

Mr. D’Orazio holds a Masters in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Colorado at Denver, a Masters in Counseling from Immaculata University, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University. D’Orazio is excited to move to the area and states, “From the moment I began to meet people at Ingleside ISD, I felt as if I found the perfect match for my beliefs about education. I am excited to join such a dynamic team at IPS and I hope to keep the great work that is already being done going forward. Go Mustangs!”

Mr. D'Orazio, welcome to Mustangland!!!
