For the month of March, Maria Zuniga, of the Child Nutrition Department at LTMS was recognized during our School Board Meeting, where she was celebrated for her outstanding efforts. She was also awarded $100 from the Ingleside ISD Education Foundation.
Below is an excerpt from the nomination that was submitted on her behalf.
"Maria has been a committed employee of the district for over 21 years, serving as a food service cook who consistently prepares nutritious meals for our students. Through her work, she helps ensure that students are fueled for learning each day, and she approaches this responsibility with care, professionalism, and pride.
Maria’s connection to the district extends far beyond her daily role. Her own children graduated from Ingleside, and now her grandchildren attend the district as well. She treats co-workers and students like family and takes genuine joy in supporting their success. Her dedication does not stop when her regular shift ends. After completing her food service duties, Maria continues serving the district by working as a custodian, always stepping up wherever help is needed. Additionally, on Friday nights you will find her greeting attendees at football games as a ticket taker, welcoming everyone with warmth, kindness, and a constant smile. She performs all of these roles willingly and without hesitation, demonstrating a remarkable work ethic and servant-hearted attitude.
Maria Zuniga represents the very best of our district—hard work, loyalty, positivity, and community pride. Her years of service and her willingness to go above and beyond make her truly deserving of this nomination and recognition."
