JV Family Matters Award

For the month of May, Jessyca Varela, of the Special Education Department was selected for the Family Matters Award! She was recognized during our School Board Meeting, where she was

celebrated for her outstanding efforts. She was also awarded $100 from the Ingleside ISD Education Foundation.

Below is an excerpt from the nomination that was submitted on her behalf.

"As a Parent with a special needs Child, we work closely with the diagnosticians of the school district. I have received wonderful and professional help from Jessyca over the years. More recently, in a meeting about my child, it was like she knew him so well. When discussing his future schedule for the next year, she had a suggestion that she knew would work great for him. The peace and calmness I felt just from the words “If I can offer a suggestion” is something us as  parents with a special needs child needs to hear… to feel like they care. It meant the world to me. Thank you Jessyca for your love, care, patience and kindness during such a sensitive time. Your help along with the help of others is a task oftentimes gone unnoticed, but it makes such an impact, I hope you know this."

We encourage you that if you witness an employee who goes above and beyond and demonstrates actions or qualities that are worthy of celebrating, to tell their story and help us recognize them! The nomination form is located on the district website at www.inglesideisd.org,under the 'About Us' section of the Menu.

Congratulations, Mrs. Varela! We're so happy you're a part of the Family at IISD.
